Formed in 1966, the RGV Chapter IEC. Inc. is a dynamic organization of electrical professionals whose mission is to promote the success of all electrical contractors preferring to remain independent or open shop. The IEC has been instrumental in interacting with local, state and national officials on legislation that has improved the industry while at the same time making the workplace environment safer. The Board of Directors and the Executive Director strive to keep members apprised of the ever-changing electrical market.
We are one of 74 Chapters across America that provide Independent Electrical Contractors with various services. One of our major services is the training of their employees that want to become Journeyman Electricians. Members actively support the education of their apprentices, journeymen, master electricians and those in the industry who use their services. The IECís commitment to providing a quality work force for the year 2005 and beyond is reflected in its training, not only for the apprentice and journeyman, but also through business and management training for the contractor and businessman. More importantly, they are given the skills for a lifelong career and not just a short-term job.
